The youth hut

  • Founded to transform the lives of Teens & Youths (T&Y) from the inside to the outside.
  • To impact T&Y with the know-how of leadership.
  • To equip T&Y with the wisdom, skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to follow through into adulthood. E.g., to make better lifestyle choices and choose healthier relationships.
  • To have stronger relationships, especially with Parents, Families, Peers, Teachers
  • To enhance self-esteem and self-confidence.
  • To reinforce that they can change, grow, adapt, transform, and thrive.
  • To give the Youth a voice and to encourage them to have a mind of their own.
  • To impact that reputation is everything and it starts by building character.

Our Achievements in 2023

March 2023

We started 2023 leadership seminar with Choices- teaching our Youths the future impact of the choices they make today.

April 2023

The Youth Hut had its first whole day leadership seminar that welcomed 5 participants from the United Kingdom and 18 participants, including two Youth Leaders from Geneva, Switzerland. The youths gained insight into living a purposeful life, becoming aware of the power of understanding, discovering and working with purpose to give life satisfaction and impact the world. In particular, they learned that:

  • Purpose is powerful.
  • Purpose cannot be fulfilled alone; we need people.
  • Purpose does not die. It lives on after we have passed on, e.g., Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela, et al.
  • Purpose, if we understand it, discover it, and run with it, will give us life satisfaction and impact others and the world.
  • The context of our purpose can change or become broadened over our lifetime.
  • To fulfil our purpose, we must have the right mindset, cultivate positive emotions, be our best possible selves, clarify our values, recognize our strengths, and think of volunteering to start being in alignment with our purpose.

May 2023

In May 2023, we learned about Growth, and the youths went away knowing that the only guarantee that tomorrow will get better is that they grow today.

July to October 2023

We placed emphasis on the inward and not the outward.  Our Youths discovered that their attitude to life will help them make a difference, knowing that it is not what happens to them but what happens in them, that counts.  

The Youth Hut had a very nice summer, came back reenergized and ended the year with a lesson on commitment, where they learned that commitment is not measured by our dreams but the actions we take, with a profound quote from one of them that – We can never really achieve anything without commitment.

Expectations for 2024

The Youth Hut is looking to welcoming more teenagers and Youths in 2024. It will open a LinkedIn page and establish Youth Hut fellows. It will also provide an opportunity to undergraduates and graduates to be part of the Youth Hut.
